The best place to get your dose of Vitamin D and not break the bank is at Sentosa. This tiny island that’s situated off the southern coast of Singapore is home to many activities that will appeal to the young and the young at heart. If you’re looking for some inspiration for a day out with your friends and loved ones, here’s a list of recommended activities at Singapore’s island of fun.
Start your day on a high note at Mega Adventure Sentosa – this is where you and up to two other friends will be strapped into a three-wire zip line for the most exciting race of the day. You’ll launch off a platform that’s 75 metres high and swoop through the air at speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour. After flying through the leafy jungle canopy of Imbiah Hill, you’ll soar past the white sands of Siloso Beach… and find out if you’re the one with the fastest flight time!
Mega Adventure Sentosa is located at 10A Siloso Beach Walk, Singapore 099008.
Feeling brave after conquering the zipline at Mega Adventure Sentosa? Consider heading over to iFly Singapore, which is one of the world’s largest indoor skydiving facilities, to experience free-fall conditions, just like you would when you hop out of a plane in a tandem skydive. The vertical wind tunnel here is almost 5 storeys high, and the acrylic glass walls ensure that you have a bird’s eye view of Siloso Beach as well as the South China Sea. The best part is, unlike traditional skydiving, indoor skydiving caters to a wide range of people: anyone above seven can give this activity a go. It’s also safe and suitable for both first timers and professional flyers!
iFly Singapore is located at 43 Siloso Beach Walk, Singapore 099010.
After a morning of adventure, take things a notch slower and head to the laidback Ola Beach Club to enjoy many hours of chill vibes at their swimming pool and bar. The latter has a menu that consists of Hawaiian favourites like poke bowls as well as their signature Loco Moco, which features wagyu beef and a tempura egg, sitting atop a bed of kombu rice and fries. Round off your meal with some Hawaiian tiki-styled cocktails and laze the rest of the afternoon away. If you’re still up for more thrilling activities, you’ll be glad to know that this beach club is also a watersports centre that offers stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and more!
Ola Beach Club is located at 46 Siloso Beach Walk, Singapore 099005.
As the sun starts to set, make your way towards Resorts World Singapore, where you’ll find The Royal Albatross docked. This superyacht is Singapore’s largest, and its 4 masts and 22 sails are traditionally rigged with over 200 ropes! Once it sets sail, you’ll be treated to a welcome aperitif before an international 5-course or 7-course dinner is served to you at your own private table on the upper deck. Savour the meal and take in the sea breeze as you watch Singapore’s cityscape light up at dusk. Done with dinner? Head to the main deck, where the air-conditioned Grand Salon is. Check out the two premium bars, snap some photos on the flying seat over the water, and catch some of the live entertainment for a night to remember!
The pick-up location for this activity is at 8 Sentosa Gateway, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore 098269.
